Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, is calling on citizens to exercise restraint in their public comments — reminding them that words carry the power to either build peace or sow division. Speaking during the November edition of the Government House Covenant Service in Uyo, the Governor urged residents to guard against divisive statements and actions that could undermine the state’s unity and social harmony. He emphasized that as Akwa Ibom continues to grow, citizens must learn to use their voices to promote understanding, tolerance, and progress. Governor Eno also announced that the state will host two major events in December — the Unity Concert on December 6, and the 2025 Akwa Ibom Christmas Carol Festival on December 19. He revealed that this year’s carol event will take a new turn, focusing strictly on traditional Christmas songs, saying the celebration will be devoted entirely to the true spirit of the season. The Governor said the events are part of efforts to strengthen the bonds of peace, togetherness, and shared faith across the state.
