The All Progressives Congress, APC, has announced an extension of deadlines for the sale and submission of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for aspirants seeking various offices in the 2027 general elections.
In a statement issued on Monday by party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the party adjusted its schedule to accommodate the revised timeline.
According to the APC, the sale of forms has been extended to midnight on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, while submission of completed forms will now close at midnight on Thursday, May 7, 2026.
The screening of aspirants is rescheduled to take place from Friday, May 8, to Tuesday, May 12, 2026, with publication of screened aspirants set for Wednesday, May 13, 2026.
Recall that the APC had fixed its presidential nomination form at N100 million, governorship at N50 million, House of Assembly at N6 million, House of Representatives at N10 million, and Senate at N20 million. The party began selling forms last week Tuesday, three days later than the initial April 25 start date.
The APC’s adjustments come amid a flurry of political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections, with other parties also realigning and updating their processes.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has set May 10 as the deadline for submission of membership registers, adding pressure on parties to finalize candidate selections.
