President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Paris, France, to commence the next phase of his three-week annual leave in Europe.
According to a video shared on the president’s official X handle, he touched down in the French capital on Sunday and was warmly received by Nigeria’s Ambassador to France, Ayodele Oke.
The trip follows the President’s initial departure from Abuja on Sunday, August 30, 2026, when he flew to London, United Kingdom, as the first stop of his vacation before proceeding to Paris.
Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, had officially announced the break on August 30 through a concise three-paragraph statement.
Titled “President Tinubu Begins Three-Week Leave,” the statement noted that the Nigerian leader is expected to return to Abuja immediately following the holiday to actively join the campaign trail for the upcoming January 2027 general election.
The President’s departure came closely on the heels of major political developments, kicking off just a week after the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) released its Presidential Campaign Council list, which features President Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima as chairman and vice chairman respectively.
