The Akwa Ibom State Government has issued a stern warning to individuals, groups, organizations, and private entities against the unauthorized use of its official logo and insignia.
The directive covers a wide array of unauthorized applications, including using government symbols for events, advertisements, online publications, opinions, digital content, and various other private activities.
According to official statements, the government expressed deep concern over the growing trend of unauthorized entities adopting state symbols.
Officials noted that this practice misleads the public by creating a false impression of government endorsement or sponsorship for private affairs, which compromises the integrity and authority of the state’s official communication channels.
In a decisive move to curb this trend, the state administration declared that individuals, groups, and organizations, under any guise whatsoever, must immediately desist from using the state’s symbols.

Moving forward, the government will take strict legal action against anyone found violating this directive, treating unauthorized use as a serious criminal offense.
The administration further specified that offenders will face aggressive prosecution for multiple charges, including false impersonation of government authorities, fraud, forgery, and copyright infringement.
Law enforcement and regulatory agencies have reportedly been briefed to monitor public and digital spaces to ensure absolute compliance with the new directive.
Consequently, members of the public are strongly advised to adhere strictly to the guidelines regarding state insignia to avoid severe legal repercussions.
The government emphasized that it has put mechanisms in place to track, apprehend, and prosecute anyone who chooses to flout this order, reinstating that no violator will be spared.
