The Akwa Ibom State Government has reiterated its commitment to positioning the aviation sector as a primary catalyst for economic transformation across the state.

This strategic focus aims to strengthen regional economic activities, enhance air connectivity, and unlock sustainable growth opportunities for citizens and local businesses alike.

Speaking through the Special Adviser on Aviation and Airport Development, Mr. Uwem Ekanem, the Governor reaffirmed the administration’s dedicated drive toward advancing state infrastructure.

He emphasized that building a modern and reliable aviation ecosystem remains central to driving long-term prosperity.

The initiative aligns directly with the state government’s broader ARISE Agenda, which targets holistic socio-economic growth.

Under this vision, key priorities include expanding air transport routes, attracting substantial commercial investments, promoting tourism development, and generating meaningful employment for the population.

Ekanem noted that elevating Akwa Ibom’s aviation footprint will significantly boost its economic competitiveness within Nigeria and the broader West African region.

A thriving aviation sector, he explained, is essential for positioning the state as an attractive destination for foreign direct investment and trade.

In closing, the Special Adviser urged citizens and stakeholders to actively support the government’s ongoing aviation initiatives.

He highlighted that a collective effort toward infrastructure growth will ultimately open up vibrant new commercial opportunities, benefiting residents, entrepreneurs, and future generations.
