Akwa United Football Club of Uyo clinched one of the two tickets to the National President’s Federation cup, after a commanding 4-0 victory over Heaven’s Race Academy, in the second semi-final of the Akwa Ibom State FA Cup, at the Uyo Township Stadium.

Daniel Gothom gave the Promise Keepers’ the lead on the stroke of halftime; 11 minutes after Charles Etim saw his penalty saved in the 34th minute of the encounter.

After the restart, Yannick Menegbe, headed home from close range to give the former Nigerian champions a two-goal lead in the 56th minute. The rout was complete late on as Aniebiet Sunday grabbed a brace to send Akwa United to the state FA Cup final, where they will face fellow NNL side, Godswill Akpabio United Football Club, who will also represent Akwa Ibom in the national finals.

The final is billed for Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the Uyo Township stadium.
