The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially released its primary timetable for the 2027 general elections, designating May 15 and 16, 2026, for its presidential primary.

According to the schedule signed by the party’s National Organizing Secretary, Sulaiman Argungu, they will commence the sale of nomination and expression of interest forms at its National Secretariat from April 25 to May 2, 2026. This administrative roadmap sets the stage for internal transitions, as the party aligns itself with the latest electoral guidelines.

The financial threshold for entry remains significant, with the party pegging the presidential form at ₦100 million; consisting of a ₦30 million expression of interest fee and a ₦70 million nomination fee. Aspirants for other positions also face substantial costs: governorship forms are priced at ₦50 million, while Senate, House of Representatives, and State House of Assembly forms cost ₦20 million, ₦10 million, and ₦6 million, respectively. Completed forms must be submitted by the May 4 deadline.

Following the submission window, the screening of aspirants will take place between May 6 and May 8, with results released on May 11 to allow for a brief appeals period. The primary elections will then be conducted in a rapid eight-day window starting with the presidency. Subsequent primaries for the House of Representatives, Senate, State House of Assembly, and governorship seats are scheduled for May 18, May 20, May 21, and May 23, respectively, with all appeals expected to conclude by May 25.

To encourage broader participation, the APC has introduced financial concessions for specific groups, including female aspirants, youths, and persons living with disabilities. These candidates are required to pay only for the expression of interest forms and will receive a 50 percent discount on nomination fees. Party leadership emphasized that this timetable is meticulously structured to ensure full compliance with the Nigerian Constitution, the Electoral Act, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) guidelines.
