The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has intensified its ongoing air offensives against insurgent groups in the North-East, successfully bombarding key terrorist strongholds at Bukar Meram in the Southern Tumbuns and Chikide in the Mandara Mountains.

The high-precision air strikes, executed under the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI, have effectively neutralized numerous terrorists and disrupted coordinated plans to launch fresh attacks in the region.

According to a statement released by the NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the strategic operation was executed on May 19, 2026.

The strikes were launched following credible intelligence reports and extensive confirmatory Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions.

The surveillance operations pinpointed active enemy movements, allowing air assets to strike with maximum accuracy.

The aerial bombardment resulted in the total destruction of vital terrorist logistics hubs, temporary structures, and assembly areas hidden deep within the rugged enclaves.

By leveling these concealed bases, the NAF has severely crippled the operational capabilities and supply chains of the terrorist elements operating along the Mandara Mountains and the Lake Chad basin.

Reacting to the successful mission, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, reaffirmed the NAF’s unwavering commitment to eliminating terrorism and restoring lasting peace across the country.

Air Marshal Aneke emphasized that the military will sustain coordinated joint operations with sister Services and allied partners, pledging that intelligence-driven air operations will continuously target and destroy terrorist hideouts, logistics networks, and operational bases wherever they exist.
