The management of XL 106.9 FM, Uyo has reaffirmed its commitment to remain independent, politically non-aligned, and fully dedicated to the best interests of Akwa Ibom State and its people.
This is as the station celebrates seven years of impactful broadcasting since it commenced commercial broadcasting on April 8, 2019.
The Managing Director, Utibe Ukim, made the pledge during a thanksgiving service held at the station’s transmitting studio, The XL Place, attended by staff, friends, and well-wishers.
Ukim recalled that the station was founded on an “Akwa Ibom First” philosophy – anchored on a firm commitment to defend the interests of the state and promote the greater good for the greatest number.
The MD said the station is committed to representing the diverse opinions, faiths, and beliefs of the people we serve, adding, “this demands that we remain independent, politically non-aligned, and wholly dedicated to the best interests of Akwa Ibom State and its citizens.”
“Even as political tides have shifted, we have remained steadfast in our principles of neutrality and independence.” He acknowledged that the path of political neutrality and independence comes at a cost, but resolves that “success, after all, is born from soaring through them.”
