Akwa Ibom State Governor, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, is scheduled to deliver the prestigious Yoruba Tennis Club Centenary Lecture as part of the grand activities marking the historic institution’s 100th anniversary.
The landmark lecture, themed “Democracy and the Imperative of Good Governance: Renewing Hope in Challenging Times,” will take place in Lagos on Thursday.
According to a news release issued by the Commissioner for Information, Aniekan Umanna, the high-profile event is being held under the patronage of President Bola Tinubu, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Patron of the Yoruba Tennis Club, alongside other distinguished national figures.
As the esteemed guest speaker, Governor Umo Eno is expected to provide thought-provoking insights into the critical role of democratic leadership and effective governance in addressing contemporary socio-economic challenges.

His address will focus heavily on charting a resilient path forward for the nation through visionary and inclusive governance.
During the lecture, Governor Eno will also highlight how the ARISE Agenda of the Akwa Ibom State Government is successfully strengthening democratic governance, promoting sustainable development, and delivering meaningful dividends of democracy directly to the people of the state.
The centenary lecture stands as one of the flagship events celebrating a century of the club’s rich legacy in promoting excellence, tradition, fellowship, leadership, and service to society.
The momentous occasion is projected to bring together an assembly of prominent personalities from government, the business sector, academia, the diplomatic community, and civil society to reflect on the future of democratic governance and nation-building.
