In continuation of events commemorating the 39th anniversary of Akwa Ibom State, Governor Umo Eno has officially commissioned a new Methodist Model Primary School in Nkari, located in Ini Local Government Area.
The milestone event underscores the current administration’s ongoing drive to elevate public infrastructure and expand educational access across the state.
Representing Governor Umo Eno at the ceremony, Senator Aloysius Etok emphasized that the newly built school reflects the government’s unwavering commitment to equitable development.
He noted that the project stands as a clear demonstration of the administration’s resolve to bridge the gap between urban and rural centers by bringing high-quality educational facilities directly to underserved communities.
The intervention provides a critical turning point for the local population following an extended period of hardship.
Speaking at the commissioning, the Commissioner for Education, Professor Ubong Umoh, revealed that pupils in Nkari had been left without a functional primary school for nearly two years.
He highlighted that the lack of infrastructure had severely disrupted learning and placed an undue burden on families in the area.
Professor Umoh explained that the state government stepped in to build the modern facility to address this deficit and restore immediate access to basic education.
He reassured community members that the school has been equipped to meet modern standards, creating a safe, conducive, and motivating environment for young learners to thrive academically.
The commissioner reaffirmed that the administration remains dedicated to ensuring no child in Akwa Ibom State is left behind, regardless of their geographical location.
