The Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has reaffirmed that his vision for healthcare delivery is centered on ensuring healthy living and the overall welfare of the state’s citizens.
The Governor made this declaration on Tuesday during the official unveiling of the 350-bed Ibom International Hospital and Ibom Medical City project, located along the Uyo-Ikot Ekpene Highway.
Governor Eno emphasized that the 350-bed Ibom International Hospital is strategically designed to reverse medical tourism.

He stressed that his administration is fully committed to putting sustainable plans in place to ensure the massive investment continues to thrive in line with its original vision, promising that the project will be ready for commissioning by June 2027.
The high-profile event attracted several dignitaries, including the Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate, who attended as the Special Guest of Honour.
Also in attendance were eminent citizens, top government officials, and key stakeholders in the healthcare sector.
The flagship project boasts a multi-faceted medical city featuring the 350-bed international hospital, a 100-unit medical residence, and an integrated healthcare and specialist care network.

Additionally, the development will house a medical research, innovation, and training hub, alongside a pharmaceutical and life sciences cluster, and state-of-the-art digital health, wellness, and rehabilitation facilities.
The ambitious Ibom Medical City project is being implemented through the coordinated efforts of the State Ministries of Health, Special Duties, and Housing.
It is designed to deliver a comprehensive, integrated healthcare ecosystem that seamlessly combines clinical services, medical education, research, accommodation, innovation, and wellness within a single development framework.
