Akwa Ibom Governor Flags Off Maiden International Flight from Victor Attah Airport; Lauds Tinubu, Keyamo

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, restated his position on leadership during the launch of the maiden international flight from the Victor Attah International Airport in Uyo, describing the project as a clear demonstration of loyalty through action and continuity in governance. The inaugural flight departed Uyo for Accra shortly after the ceremony.


Speaking at the event, Governor Eno said he personally inspected the facility ahead of the launch to ensure its readiness. He expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for approving the airport’s international status and for supporting the project.

The governor also gave special thanks to the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, SAN, for his commitment and efforts in ensuring the project’s successful completion.


Governor Eno noted that the international flight operation reflects a collective effort built over time, describing it as the labour of past heroes.

He stressed that the milestone underscores continuity in governance and the importance of building on the legacies of previous administrations for the benefit of the people.


The governor further thanked President Tinubu for supporting the airport’s upgrade, adding that the funding provided played a crucial role in bringing the project to completion.

The launch marks a major boost for economic and tourism activities in Akwa Ibom State as the Victor Attah International Airport begins full international operations.
