Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to good governance following his nomination by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ibiakpan Obotim Ward Two as the party’s governorship candidate for the upcoming 2027 general election.

Speaking shortly after the primary election held at the Government Primary School in Ikot Akpabin, Governor Eno expressed profound gratitude for the endorsement, describing the overwhelming support for his re-election bid as a clarion call to greater service for the people of the state.

The Governor emphasized that his administration remains focused on impactful development, noting that the state’s blueprint, the ARISE Agenda, will be thoroughly assessed to identify implementation gaps, particularly those affecting local communities.

He assured citizens that strategic efforts will be made to plug these gaps for the collective good of the state. In a forward-looking disclosure, Eno revealed that plans are already underway for the launch of “ARISE Agenda 2.0” to further accelerate state development.

Highlighting the political significance of the event, Eno acknowledged with gratitude to God that this marks the first time in the history of Akwa Ibom State that the party would present a single, consensus governorship candidate.

He praised the unified front of the party, noting that the seamless process reflects a new era of political cohesion and shared vision within the state’s political landscape.

Furthermore, the State Chief Executive commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senate President Senator Godswill Akpabio, and the entire membership of the National Assembly for their legislative leadership.

He credited them with providing the necessary democratic template and enacting the crucial law that effectively abolished indirect primaries, paving the way for a more direct and transparent candidate selection process.

Climaxing the event, Governor Eno used the momentous occasion to address the state’s leadership future by officially announcing his preferred running mate for the forthcoming election.

He confirmed that the current Deputy Governor of the state, Senator Akon Eyakenyi, will join him on the ticket, signaling continuity and stability for the administration’s second-term pursuit.
