Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has announced the restoration process of near 24-hour electricity supply within the Aba ring-fenced area.
This major power breakthrough spans across nine local government areas of the state, marking a significant milestone in the administration’s efforts to boost economic activity and improve the standard of living for residents in the region.
Governor Otti shared this development while speaking at Invest Lagos 3.0, a high-level international investment summit.
The event, which serves as a premier platform for economic collaboration, was organized by the Lagos State Government in strategic partnership with the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council.
Reflecting on the achievement, the Governor noted that the success of the landmark Aba Power Project has provided a sustainable blueprint for the state’s energy sector.

He revealed that Abia State is now strategically positioned to replicate this effective power model in Umuahia, the state capital, as well as other key areas across the state to drive comprehensive industrial growth.
Beyond energy, Governor Otti highlighted his administration’s massive overhaul of the state’s healthcare infrastructure.
He disclosed that seven general hospitals are currently undergoing complete rebuilding processes, complemented by extensive, ongoing improvements at the Abia State University Teaching Hospital, Specialist Hospital Amachara, and the Umunnato health facility.
In light of these aggressive development strides, the Governor extended an open invitation to global investors at the summit.
He appealed for robust investment support and partnerships toward the state’s ambitious, proposed Medical City project, which aims to position Abia as a premier hub for healthcare delivery in the region.
