Forum of Broadcast Managers Advocates Growth and Unity During Historic Visit to XL 106.9 FM

The Forum of Broadcast Managers in Akwa Ibom State, the umbrella body for managers in the electronic media sector comprising radio and television stations, recently paid a strategic courtesy visit to XL 106.9 FM.

The station also hosted the forum’s official general meeting, marking a significant gathering of media leaders in the region.

Speaking during the meeting, the General Manager of XL 106.9 FM, Samuel Williamson, warmly welcomed members of the forum to the facility.

He described the gathering as a historic moment for the station, highlighting the pride of hosting top-tier media executives under one roof.

Williamson noted that the forum has played a vital and transformative role in promoting industry collaboration, unity of purpose, and the collective advancement of the broadcast sector across Akwa Ibom State.

In his address, the Chairman of the Forum and General Manager of Inspiration FM, Uyo, Reverend Silas Ufot, stated that the meeting was primarily aimed at strengthening the broadcast industry, promoting deep-rooted professionalism, and ensuring that the core essence of broadcasting is consistently upheld.

Reverend Ufot further emphasized that the forum actively seeks to engage government institutions and policymakers.

The goal is to ensure that the concerns of broadcasters are addressed and that an enabling environment is created to support the effective practice and development of the industry.

The high-profile meeting drew heavyweights from across the state’s media landscape.

Notable figures in attendance included the Secretary of the Forum and General Manager of Tang Sio FM, Ekaette Johnny, and the General Manager of Spectrum TV, Blyden Ukem.

Other prominent leaders present were Samuel Enoobong Akpan, Executive Management Consultant at Comfort FM; Andrew Essien, Managing Director of Memories FM; Dr. Kenneth Ogbunehu, General Manager of Mix FM; Iyke Juwe, General Manager of ADBN/Passion FM; and the host, Samuel Williamson of XL 106.9 FM.
