The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has accused political detractors and enemies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of deliberately sponsoring insecurity across the country.
According to Akpabio, these elements are intentionally fueling instability to undermine the current administration and portray the federal government in a bad light.
Akpabio made these remarks during a high-profile event in Abuja organized to celebrate the 84th birthday of former Military Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar (Retired).
Addressing the gathering of prominent leaders and statesmen, the Senate President noted that President Tinubu has been constantly grappling with “enemies of progress” who are determined to derail the nation’s democratic and economic advancements.
The Senate President emphasized that the recent waves of security challenges are not entirely organic, but are rather orchestrated by individuals who are displeased with the government’s reformative agenda.

He suggested that these frustrated political actors are using the nation’s vulnerabilities as weapons to create a false narrative of failure around the Tinubu presidency.
Despite the daunting challenges, Akpabio assured Nigerians that the federal government remains resilient and unfazed by the actions of these detractors.
He reiterated the legislative arm’s commitment to working hand-in-hand with the executive to provide the necessary legal frameworks and funding required to crush the perpetrators of violence.
Concluding his address, the Senate President expressed unwavering optimism about the nation’s future, declaring that Nigeria would ultimately defeat both terrorism and poverty.
He called on citizens to remain patient and supportive of President Tinubu’s policies, promising that the administration’s long-term vision would yield a safer and more prosperous nation for all.
