The Akwa Ibom State Judiciary has issued a stern warning to members of the public against fraudulent individuals and extortionists allegedly demanding money from job seekers under the false pretense of securing employment or placements within the judiciary.
In a public notice released on Monday, the Chief Registrar, Affiong Usimkah, stated unequivocally that the judiciary has no connection whatsoever with any individual or group collecting money from applicants in exchange for job opportunities.
The judiciary strongly urged citizens to remain vigilant, exercise extreme caution, and avoid falling victim to these deceptive schemes orchestrated by unscrupulous elements looking to exploit desperate job seekers.
Clarifying the official recruitment timeline, the Chief Registrar noted that the legitimate recruitment exercise for qualified applicants into the lower cadre of the judiciary officially commenced on May 11, 2026, and successfully closed on May 28, 2026.
Furthermore, the judiciary emphasized that all official recruitment processes follow strict, transparent guidelines and do not require monetary inducements at any stage of the application or selection procedure.
Concluding the notice, the judiciary issued a strict warning that anyone caught engaging in these fraudulent activities or posing as recruitment agents will be apprehended and dealt with decisively in accordance with the relevant laws of the land.
