Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has called on citizens to prioritize the overall interest of the state and elect leaders who genuinely care about the welfare of the people in the 2027 general elections.

The governor made the appeal during a press briefing held to mark the landing of the maiden international flight from Accra, Ghana, to Uyo.

Governor Eno cautioned residents against making poor electoral choices, warning that voting for leaders who lack compassion and commitment to development would be a costly mistake for the state.

He emphasized the need for citizens to make informed decisions that would positively impact the state’s progress.

The governor highlighted the significance of the new international flight, describing it as a major step in boosting economic activities, improving connectivity, and positioning Akwa Ibom as a key destination for business and tourism. The flight is expected to open up new opportunities for trade and investment in the state.

Governor Eno’s call comes as Akwa Ibom State seeks to leverage its new international airport status to drive economic growth and development.

The state government has expressed optimism that the improved connectivity will attract investors and boost local businesses, ultimately improving the lives of residents.
