Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to strengthening security and sustaining holistic development across the state.
The Governor made this declaration while receiving participants of the Naval Warfare Course 10 from the Naval War College of Nigeria, who are currently in the state for a strategic study tour.
Governor Eno, who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Senator Akon Eyakenyi, spoke during the delegation’s courtesy visit held at the Old Executive Council Chambers, Government House, Uyo.

The visit highlights the ongoing collaborative efforts between the state government and the military to maintain peace and stability in the region.
Addressing the naval officers, the Governor described security as an essential foundation for economic growth, social stability, and political development.
He emphasized that meaningful progress and sustainable development cannot be achieved in an environment where citizens, businesses, and foreign investments are left vulnerable to safety threats.
While noting that Akwa Ibom is widely recognized as one of the most peaceful states in Nigeria, Governor Eno stressed that his administration would not become complacent or neglect its primary responsibility.

He assured that the government remains fully dedicated to keeping the state safe and welcoming for residents, investors, and visitors alike.
Furthermore, the Governor highly commended the Nigerian Navy for its tireless efforts in protecting the state’s critical maritime environment.
He specifically lauded their vital role in combating crude oil theft, piracy, and other illicit maritime activities within the Gulf of Guinea, pledging continuous regional support for their operations.
