Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, has called for a significant shift in political coordination and grassroots engagement to reposition the North-West region within Nigeria’s evolving development landscape.

Speaking at a high-level stakeholders’ meeting in Abuja, Radda emphasized that strategic communication and unified action among regional leaders are essential to enhancing the zone’s influence in national affairs.

The meeting brought together an influential cohort of senior federal officials, members of the National Assembly, and heads of federal agencies from Katsina State and the wider North-West.

In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Mohamed, the governor stressed the urgent need to revive the Katsina Stakeholders’ Forum. He described the platform as a vital tool for policy alignment and unity, ensuring the state remains at the forefront of national governance and party growth.

A central theme of the governor’s address was the importance of “owning the narrative.” Radda urged political leaders to proactively promote the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

He warned that a lack of consistent communication allows for misinformation, tasking stakeholders to leverage radio and print media to disseminate accurate information and strengthen public trust at the local level.

Beyond communication, the session concluded with a firm resolve to bolster the North-West’s presence in future political transitions.

Radda challenged leaders to “return to the grassroots” and demonstrate their relevance at the ward and local government levels.

The stakeholders further resolved to advocate for improved funding for federal agencies to enhance service delivery, maintaining that inclusive governance is no longer optional but a necessity for the region’s progress.
