Morka Asserts: Tinubu Has Surpassed All Past Elected Presidents

The National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Felix Morka, has asserted that President Bola Tinubu has outperformed every democratically elected leader in Nigeria during a single first term.

Speaking during a media appearance on an interview on television, Morka maintained that the current administration’s achievements surpass those of any of its predecessors.

Elaborating on the state of the nation, Morka stated that President Tinubu inherited an economy that was “completely in a mess” when he assumed office in May 2023.

He used the legal maxim “res ipsa loquitur” to argue that the administration’s positive performance indicators are self-evident and speak for themselves.

Shifting focus to past administrations, the APC spokesperson heavily criticized the 16-year governance of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He characterized the preceding era as a period of profound maladministration that brought the country dangerously close to economic collapse.

Addressing the tenure of former President Muhammadu Buhari, Morka framed that administration as a necessary “stopgap”. According to him, Buhari’s primary role was to hold the nation steady and prevent it from tipping over the precipice following the PDP’s multi-year rule.

Morka further claimed that ongoing economic policies implemented under Tinubu have successfully steered Nigeria “out of the woods” at the macroeconomic level.

He noted that these progressive changes have become so apparent that even some former critics are beginning to acknowledge the administration’s trajectory.

While defending the administration’s sweeping reforms, Morka did not cite specific statistical metrics or direct comparative benchmarks against past civilian administrations.

Nevertheless, he maintained that the foundational steps taken so far lay a strong groundwork for the country’s economic future.
