PGF Denies Reports of Hope Uzodimma’s Removal as Chairman, Says Forum Remains United

The Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) has dismissed reports alleging the removal of Hope Uzodimma as chairman of the forum, describing the claims as false, misleading, and entirely unfounded.

In a statement issued on Friday, the Director-General of the forum, Folorusho Aluko, clarified that no meeting was held where such a decision was taken, insisting that Governor Uzodimma remains the legitimate chairman of the body.

According to the statement, reports circulating on some media platforms suggesting a leadership change within the forum were fabricated and did not originate from the PGF Secretariat.

“The Forum remains united, focused, and committed to its responsibilities,” the statement read.

The forum further stressed that it had no record of any resolution, deliberation, or discussion concerning the removal of the Imo State governor as chairman.

The PGF also urged members of the public, supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and media organisations to disregard the reports in their entirety.

The statement reaffirmed that Governor Uzodimma continues to enjoy the confidence and support of governors elected on the platform of the APC.

The clarification comes amid growing political speculation surrounding the leadership of the Progressive Governors Forum ahead of future political realignments within the ruling party.
