The management of the University of Uyo (UniUyo) has expressed its readiness to partner with XL 106.9 FM, a leading radio station in Akwa Ibom State.

This strategic collaboration aims to promote robust knowledge sharing and enhance public engagement initiatives across the state, bridging the gap between academia and the general public.

The University’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Christopher Ekong, made the commitment while receiving a management delegation from the radio station at the institution’s main campus.

The delegation, led by the station’s General Manager, Samuel Williamson, visited the Vice-Chancellor on a formal courtesy call to discuss avenues for future cooperation.

Speaking during the visit, Williamson explained that the purpose of the courtesy call was two-fold.

First, it was to congratulate Professor Ekong on his recent appointment as the Vice-Chancellor of the university, and second, to formally convey the radio station’s interest in building a mutually beneficial partnership that leverages the strengths of both institutions.

In his response, Professor Ekong commended XL 106.9 FM for its high standards and professionalism in broadcasting.

He noted that the station has consistently demonstrated excellence in its programming, making it a reliable platform for dissemination of impactful information.

Reaffirming UniUyo’s commitment to growth, the Vice-Chancellor emphasized that the university remains dedicated to collaborating with institutions that support education, research, and community development.

He expressed optimism that the partnership with XL 106.9 FM would yield positive results for the academic community and the public at large.
