President Donald Trump announced on Friday that he will not be attending the upcoming wedding of his eldest son, Donald Trump Jr.

In a statement shared via his Truth Social account, the President cited the heavy demands of governance and pressing affairs of state as the primary reasons for his absence from the ceremony.

The President revealed that his son’s nuptials to fiancée, Bettina Anderson, coincide with a period that requires his “continued attention” at the White House.

He emphasized that the current political and administrative climate necessitates his presence in the nation’s capital, prioritizing his official duties over the family celebration.

“While I very much wanted to be with my son, Don Jr., and the newest member of the Trump family, his soon-to-be wife, Bettina, circumstances pertaining to government, and my love for the United States of America, do not allow me to do so,” Trump wrote.

He further characterized the current timing as a critical juncture for the country, suggesting that his role as Commander-in-Chief takes precedence over personal milestones.

Despite his absence, the President extended his warm congratulations and support to the couple. He described the upcoming union as a significant moment for the Trump family and expressed his well-wishes for their future together, even as he remains tethered to the Oval Office to manage national interests.
