United States President, Donald Trump, has arrived in Beijing for a three-day state visit scheduled to run from May 13 to 15.
The trip marks a high-level engagement between the world’s two largest economies at a time of ongoing global economic and geopolitical developments.
The visit is taking place at the invitation of Chinese President, Xi Jinping. According to media reports, this is the first visit to China by a sitting United States president in nine years, giving the trip added diplomatic significance.

Discussions between the two leaders are expected to focus on major issues affecting China-U.S. relations. The Chinese Foreign Ministry said Trump and Xi will hold an in-depth exchange of views on bilateral ties as well as broader matters of world peace and development.
The agenda for the talks is likely to cover trade, security, and regional stability. Both sides are anticipated to address points of tension while also exploring areas for cooperation between Washington and Beijing.
This meeting follows the last encounter between Trump and Xi on October 30, 2025, in Busan, South Korea, on the sidelines of the APEC summit.
Observers say the Beijing engagement will be closely watched for signals on the future direction of U.S.-China relations.
